Programs and Kirtans

Kirtan is collective chanting offered to God in a prayerful mood. Such chanting opens access to the boundless spiritual realm and helps one attain peace, happiness, and love — both in material life and in eternal spiritual reality.

Chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra —
“Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare,
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare” —
is the central spiritual practice of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, to which the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) belongs. This practice carries profound spiritual and philosophical significance.
Chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra possesses powerful spiritual and purifying potency. It has the ability to free the mind from negative qualities and material attachments, awakening the soul’s natural spiritual state.
This practice helps one establish a personal relationship with God by calling upon His internal energy (“Hare”), His all-attractive nature (“Krishna”), and His source of spiritual bliss (“Rama”).
In the age of Kali-yuga, the Mahamantra is the most effective means of liberation and of attaining the highest goal of life — love and devotion to God. Its universality makes it accessible to everyone, regardless of age or faith, while also bringing inner peace, relieving stress, and improving concentration — uniting spiritual benefit with practical effect.
